The Salem Zombiewalk has been an annual event for a number of years. This is a great family-friendly event will be held in Downtown Salem, MA. Prior to the Zombiewalk, participants gather at Salem Commons for some field day activities, last-minute costume tweaks and alterations, and of course to admire other lovers of the Zombie theme.
Come join or watch this Salem tradition to kick off Haunted Happenings that is filled with pageantry, music, and the enthusiasm of thousands of Salem’s students from kindergarten to college. This year’s event will feature the theme “Myths & Legends”.
Fair in the Square is a time- honored tradition celebrating each other and showcasing our charming town. Come shop local vendors and makers offering a wide variety of goods from local honey and bee related products to jewelry to facepainting to artists and more!
Maritime Gloucester invites participants to pull up dock lines on the pier and see what marine creatures we can find! Using magnifying glasses, microscopes, and identification cards, we’ll discover as many marine invasive critters as we can. After investigating the dock, we encourage families to explore the Maritime Gloucester Campus, including the Seapocket Aquarium, the Marine Science & Education Center, and Gorton’s Seafood Gallery of Maritime Heritage in Gloucester, all free of charge.
The Gloucester Schooner Festival is a wonderful celebration of Gloucester's fishing and maritime history during labor day weekend. This year's festival, hosted by Maritime Gloucester, is Gloucester’s major marine event, with participating vessels coming from ports along the Eastern seaboard and beyond. There will be both large and small vessels—ranging from 19 feet to over 100 feet in length. You will see new boats and old boats, from newly built (Ardelle - launched 2011) to over 100 years old!

The Gloucester Fireworks were postponed from July 3, 2023 due to weather concerns. The Horribles parade was held as scheduled. The fireworks and concert on the boulevard are happening on Stacey Boulevard on July 8, celebrating not only independence day, but Gloucester's 400th Anniversary!
