Maritime Gloucester invites kids ages 5-10 to a vacation week session about some of the stranger creatures found in the ocean - part of a week full of educational sessions during April vacation! Although only 5% of oour ocean has been explored, some of what has been discovered has proven to be incredibly strange.
Join us for a class on making Ukrainian Eggs! Presented by Kati Bourque, (Head of Technical Services here at the Hamilton-Wenham Library). This program is open to teens in grades 6 through 12. All supplies will be provided. The class is limited to 15 participants so registration is required. Wear your getting messy clothes!
Spring has sprung! It is an excellent time of year for exploring and learning on the farm. We will be planting and harvesting in our garden, taking care of our animals and finding all the signs of spring that nature divulges. Join us on Wednesday mornings from 9:30AM to 12:30PM for a preschool drop-off series to educate your preschooler on farm animals, life cycles, plant parts, and farm fun!
Join us for the 39th Annual Essex ClamFest and Arts & Crafts Festival, from 11 am to 4 pm in Shepard Memorial Park in Essex. Historic Stage Fort Park along Gloucester Harbor will once again blossom into the colorful 42nd Annual Gloucester Waterfront Festival. A collection of over 175 Juried Artists and Craftsmen from throughout the U.S. will display their unique creations, live music, plus delicious ethnic foods. A pancake breakfast and traditional New England Lobster Bake complement this picture perfect seaport event!

Step aboard a schooner, learn about traditional shipbuilding and fitting out, watch America’s oldest marine railway in action, or explore the unique biology that makes our oceans so amazing. Maritime Gloucester will be hosting a variety of local community organizations with an exciting array of demonstrations and interactive options for all ages.

The Trustees of Reservations invites ages 12 and up to a valentine craft making workshop! This winter season, give a gift from the sea! From seaweed pressings to shell collages, beach treasures make beautiful greetings and keepsakes. Join this workshop to learn fun craft ideas and make marine art with our coastal educators. This program will start with a beach walk to collect coastal treasures, and then we will head inside for crafting. Materials and inspiration provided.
The Newburyport Public Library is hosting a beaded jewelry crafting session.Drop in to do some beading! Make a bracelet, necklace, or other accessory. No registration necessary.
